Overview

Docetaxel is an active substance present in the medication named Docetero and it belongs to a class of antineoplastics (cancer-fighting medication) known as taxanes. Docetero is available in the form of injection with a strength of 80mg and it is prescribed for the treatment of multiple types of cancer (Lung cancer, Prostate cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Head and Neck Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, and Breast cancer). This injection works by interfering with the DNA and RNA (genetic material) of cancer cells and stops the growth of cancerous cells. Docetero (Docetaxel) injection is administered to patients through an IV (intravenous) line under the supervision of a qualified and trained healthcare team.

Docetaxel is a type of anticancer medication known as a taxoid. It promotes the production of microtubules from tubulin dimers and prevents microtubule depolymerization. As a result of this stability, the regular dynamic reconfiguration of the microtubule network, which is essential for crucial interphase and mitotic cellular functions, is blocked.
