Crizotinib is an active compound present in the medication named Crizalk and it belongs to a class of drugs known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Crizalk is available in the form of a capsule with a strength of 250mg and it is indicated for the treatment of a specific type of Lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer). This capsule works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein and stop the cancer cells from dividing. Crizalk (Crizotinib) also helps in decreasing the size of a tumor and administer this capsule orally with a glass of water and take it as it is prescribed by your health professional or medical practitioner. 

Crizotinib inhibits tyrosine kinase receptors and it specifically inhibits anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR, c-MET), and Recepteur d’Origine Nantais, among other proteins (RON). Mutations and translocations in the ALK gene can result in the production of oncogenic fusion proteins.


Using Crizalk (Crizotinib) with other over-the-counter medications such as – vitamins, herbal supplements, or any other medicinal product, increases the risk of adverse reactions. Do not try to use such medication while receiving therapy with Crizalk capsules.

Medicine interactions:- amiodarone, brexpiprazole, clomipramine, deutetrabenazine, entrectinib, fosamprenavir, goserelin, imipramine, etc can interact with Crizalk (Crizotinib) capsule and it may increase or decrease the serum concentration and it may also increase the risk of QTc prolongation when Acrivastine is combined with Crizotinib.

Disease interactions:- gastrointestinal perforation, visual loss, lung toxicity, hepatic impairment, bradycardia, QT prolongation, renal dysfunction, etc are the disease that may interact severely or moderately with Crizalk (Crizotinib) capsule, and monitoring of the medical condition is recommended in patients. 

Food interactions:- avoid the use of grapefruit and grapefruit juice while receiving therapy with Crizalk (Crizotinib) because it may increase blood levels and it may also include side effects like – bleeding, loss of appetite, headache, cough, drowsiness, vomiting, fatigue, skin rash, etc. 

Alcohol interactions:- consuming alcohol while receiving treatment with Crizalk (Crizotinib) capsule may increase the risk of blurred vision, lightheadedness, and excessive dizziness in patients. It is better to avoid the consumption of alcohol and consult with your healthcare professional before consuming it.
