Bevacizumab is an active compound present in the medication named Avastin and it belongs to a group of drugs known as biological response modifiers. Avastin is available in the form of injection with a strength of 400mg and it is indicated to treat patients with a number of cancers (Colorectal cancer, Cervical cancer, Ovarian cancer, Non-small cell lung cancer, Kidney cancer, and Brain tumor). This injection helps in preventing the multiplication of cancer cells and reduces the size of the tumor. Avastin is an anti-cancer medication and it is administered through an IV (intravenous) line under the supervision of a highly qualified medical team.

Bevacizumab binds to circulating VEGF and prevents it from binding to its associated receptors, effectively blunting downstream signaling. Avastin (Bevacizumab) has been shown to re-establish normal vasculature at the tumor site, resulting in increased nutrient and oxygen supply while also improving chemotherapeutic drug delivery to the target area.
